Chief of Police Randy Doughty
Chief Randy Doughty has been with the Plainview Police Department for twenty-three years. He was born in Esterville, Iowa and moved to Minnesota while in grade school. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1968. After graduating from high school,he obtained his law enforcement education from the B.C.A. In January of 1974 Randy was hired as a full-time patrolman for the Winthrop Police Department. After working for twelve years in Winthrop, he was hired by the Plainview Police Department in March of 1986 as a full-time patrolman. In December of 1989 he was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police. On May 1, 1999, Randy was appointed to the position of Chief of Police by the City of Plainview. For the last ten years he has attended the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Executive Training Institute. He is an active member of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association. |
